They Shall Come Again- A Warriors fanfic

Here is my fanfic!



Chapter 1
Rivertail woke to an itch on his neck. He sat up, scratching to find out what was causing it. He felt the hard body of a tick. He groaned, the last time anybody cleaned the bedding was 5 days ago, when he had done it himself as an apprentice. He straightened up as he remembered with pride his warrior ceremony only 2 days ago. Then he remembered the tasks at hand; the dawn patrol was gone so he might as well get rid of the tick. Rivertail walked to the medicine den eager to get rid of the nuisance. The camp was still quiet, but as he got close to the medicine den he heard a murmuring… it was Moongaze!
” No….no …. HELP ME!” She yelped, then sat up, looking wildly around. Moongaze calmed down when she saw Rivertail, but her eyes were still shadowed with fear. “Hello,” she said”here to get rid of ticks?”
“How did you guess?” Rivertail ask genuinely confused.
Moongaze’s laughter echoed around the small hollow ”the whole dawn patrol was here itching their pelts off.”
"Well,I’ll clean the bedding later but can you please get rid of it?" Rivertail grumbled. It was a normal day for the clan but Moongaze’s ominous message suggested tat darkness was yet to come….

The hunting patrol he had joined had been uneventful for Rivertail. Nothing seemed wrong, but when he returned he saw Moongaze whispering to Icestar. Rivertail had suspected she had had a message, but didn’t expect her to tell Icestar so soon. He edged closer pretending to choose fresh kill.
”…. you HAVE to do something! ”She insisted” StarClan sent me a message so we can prevent being killed by this new trouble, even if we don’t know what it is.“
”NO!” Icestar growled, his temper running short “I can’t do anything without more information, tell me if StarClan tells you more, then we will act.”
“Ok….” Moongaze said, looking disappointed. Rivertail quickly picked a mouse and walked away as if nothing had happened. He settled down near the warriors den and tried to look unsuspicious.
“What had Moongaze heard that shook her so much” He wondered “Was it really THAT bad?” He was pulled from his thoughts when Brokenfang walked over and asked, “I know you’ve already been on patrol, but Icestar asked if you can come on the sunset patrol …” He hesitated. “The other warriors are either hunting or sleeping.” Rivertail grunted, but didn’t complain. This could be his chance to look for the trouble that was coming. He followed Brokenfang to the entrance of the camp where they were met by Mousewhisker.
”Ready?” Mousewhisker asked…..

Rivertail and the others scented nothing strange. They didn’t see anything strange, all seemed peaceful, even more than normal. Everything being quiet both calmed and disturbed Rivertail, if something bad was to come why was all better than normal? He pondered these thoughts as he padded along the clearing then he decided to go outside just a bit to clear his mind. He directed himself to the river immediately, what better way was there to clear your mind then some midnight fishing or a swim? Rivertail suspected he would be near the river soon,he was wrong...

Chapter 2
He walked a long time, puzzled why he still hadn’t found the river. In the dark he must have fumbled around and missed it entirely. Now he ran through the shrubbery, hoping to find a landmark. It was a few minutes before he found one, but it was not the one he expected. He saw the Thunderpath that separated the territories of ShadowClan and RiverClan. He hissed, there was a ShadowClan cat on the other side of the Thunderpath! What did a ShadowClan cat have to do at this time of night at the border? He thought, disgusted. Rivertail dived into the nearest bush. He was determined to find out this cat's purpose here. He watched for over an hour but nothing happened, the ShadowClan cat caught a frog on HIS side of the border, sat there tediously for half an hour, and dozed off. Rivertail was prepared to dismiss it as midnight wanderings when the cat woke up from one of his dozes, snarled impatiently and ran across the border. He ran clean over it as if there would be no consequence for doing it. Rivertail’s jaw dropped. He was furious! He sped through the shrubbery after him darting from plant to plant when he came to the clear space RiverClan trained their apprentices in. Rivertail jumped into the shrubbery before the cat could see him. After another two anxious minutes, another cat joined the warrior. His jaw dropped even lower, a cat from his own Clan was helping this evil cat!
“WHY DIDN’T YOU COME TO THE BORDER LIKE WE PLANNED?!” The cat yowled as loud as he could without waking the whole of RiverClan.
“Don’t screech Shadowpaw, I had things to do! “ Dappleface chuckled “anyway it was a good test of courage…”
“Test of courage, TEST OF COURAGE!!!!! “ Shadowpaw said angrily “I COULD OF GOTTEN CAUGHT, THEN WHERE WOULD WE BE?!”

Chapter 2 part 2

“Calm down little kit,any-“Dappleface started.
“ I’m not a kit!”Shadowpaw interrupted him.
“It’s my way of speaking, anyway-“ Dappleface began to speak again
“Well stop then!” Shadowpaw interjected for the second time “it’s annoying and-.“ This time it was Dappleface’s turn to interrupt.
“OK! But will you let me SPEAK!?” Dappleface retorted furiously, he looked upwards. ”See it’s already daylight and I haven’t given my report!” Shadowpaw shied away as Dappleface turned “go home, we will discuss this at the Gathering tomorrow”. As they parted ways Rivertail nearly had a heart attack when he noticed Dappleface was heading straight at him! He sped home the whole time wondering if Dappleface had scented him there. Rivertail stopped just before he hurtled into camp. "I need as much reason as Dappleface to be out of camp," He thought. So he sniffed around a bit and took down two mice. Seconds before he padded into the entrance he saw Dappleface’s outline against the sun. He hurried in trying, to avoid any questioning from his fellow Clanmate. He put his catch on the fresh-kill pile and sat down under the tall tree as Icestar called the Clan together….

Chapter 3
The Prophecy
It was a day after Icestar had called the Clan together to tell them who was going to the gathering, and Rivertail was going to the medicine den to get his torn pad fixed, he couldn’t go to his first Gathering as a warrior limping now could he? When he arrived, Moongaze was just leaving. “Are you going to get herbs?” he asked. “Because I’ll help you, but I have a torn pad.”
“No I wasn’t. I was looking for you.“ her face seemed surprisingly. serious “Come in.”
“What’s wrong?” He asked worridly “Are you ok?”
“Promise not to tell anyone?” When Rivertail nodded she went on. “The prophecy I had – don’t deny knowing it you made it easy to notice that you were listening in – was this,
"From each Clan one shall come
four from the old one from the new
Their names are old their prophecy true
Their mission here, similar to one long ago
To keep us true to founders will.”
She looked around, and then started to fix his pad as if nothing had happened. “You’re fine but I would suggest you rest until the Gathering. “ She said loudly. As Rivertail padded to his den his head was spinning. a prophecy? He thought why did she tell me?! . He pondered this thought, for a while then his eyes widened did she think I was in it? The last thing he thought that night as he was falling asleep was, was she right?

Chapter 4 part 1
The Gathering
Cats were gathering at the bottom of the Tall tree as Icestar called for the people going to the Gathering. At a flick of his tail Icestar’s group set out into the forest. They swam over the small stream that connected with the river, then continued over land. When they arrived, the fallen tree was full of scents, apparently RiverClan, SkyClan, and ShadowClan had arrived. Rivertail waited in silence as the other warriors made their way along the tree, then clawed his way, yes clawed his way, through all the branches to the other side when it was his turn. Everyone was startled but him. “How dare them!” This thought was not aimed at the warriors, but at another group of cats that had put him in this horrible mood. He could barely control his anger; he lashed at anything that got close and hissed at any comment made on how he was acting. Eventually the others left him alone as they pulled through the bushes to the gathering. When he saw Shadowpaw and Windpaw talking his anger near made him screech, the evil cat planning on his territory! Rivertail forced himself to walk calmly over and sit down. “Hi” he forced himself to smile “everything ok?”
“Of course” Shadowpaw laughed “anyway I heard you are now a warrior River- what now?”
“Rivertail” Rivertail meowed, then he skipped to the only reason he was sitting next to this evil cat “have any of you heard a prophecy by any chance?....”

Chapter 4 part 2 in shadowpaws point of view!
Huh ,prophecy? Shadowpaw thought after Rivertail explained. Wow, if he thinks he can pretend theres a prophecy to be able to act as my leader hes pretty mousebrained
"So have you?" Rivertail urged " Well?"
"If you think you can pull this off you really are mousebrained" Shadowpaw snarled
"Pull what off? Huh?" Rivertail stuttered.
"dont act mousebrained,i know your plan" Shadowpaw advanced on him " Huh, trying to trick us, and they say i'm evil because i'm in Shadowclan"
" b-but" Rivertail looked indignant, then his expression turned into anger " you call me evil, but you are the one whos planing with Dapplefa-!"
He knows about that!? A growl escaped Shadowpaws throat. He got ready to swipe his unsheathed claws across Rivertails muzzle.
" wait ,stop" a cry interrupted them as Windpaw blocked Shadowpaw's way " its a Gathering, have you forgotten!!!!!"
" get out of the way" Shadowpaw spat as he brought his dark brown paw across her face.She staggered of, dazed by the attack. Shadowpaw tried to ponce on Rivertail but Rivertail was ready, he dodged out of the way and ran straight towards the Great Oak. The whole time screaming " Remember the truce, REMEMBER THE TRUCE!!!!".
Claws tore into his pelt as cats tried to stop Shadowpaw, but his fury of finding Rivertail knew got the better of him. Eventually Rivertail tired and turned around to suprise him, but Shadowpaw just scratched his muzzle as he had intended to do before. Rivertail, too exausted to do any thing just slumped to the ground as Shadowpaw unleashed his fury. Serves you right weakling Shadowpaw thought just before he was pulled away by a huge mass of cats. " The Gathering is over!" he heard someone say before he was dragged onto the bridge...

Chapter 5

"Uhh... what?" Rivertail was just rising from unconsciousness and going into dreams
"Thats quite a blow you took" a voice from behind him laughed. Rivertail jumped around,not sure who to expect. He gasped as a cat he never had expected to meet walked out of the bushes.
"I see you recognize me.." the cat meowed "I sure do hope so.."
"R-Riverstar!?" Rivertail nearly fainted "D-do you have a message from StarClan?"
"Well i guess you could say that" Riverstar said calmly "You need not be afraid of me, I am your kin after all."
"I am not fearful, it is awe that_"Rivertail stopped "Your kin???"
"yes you and the others are desendants of the founders, a good reason why we chose you" Riverstar smiled "this is why I came to warn you, you and and them are very much like us, which may not always be a good thing. Try not to make the mistakes we did..."
"B-but.. WAIT!" Rivertail shouted after Riverstar, but he was gone....

Rivertail woke in the medicine den already thinking on the visit he had, had during his sleep. Is it actually possible Riverstar visited me? He wondered Or was i just diluisionall?
" hello?" Moongaze tryed to wake him up her eyes lit up "ahh your awake finally!"
"How long have I been asleep?" He mumbled
"Around a half moon" Moongaze snorted "you took quite a hard blow so, you missed the apprentice ceremony"
"A-apprentice ceremony??" Rivertail said tiredly
"yeah, you know Rosekit?" She beamed "Shes now my apprentice!"
"what about mosskit?" Rivertail asked curiously.
" She and Dustkit got into trouble so its being delayed" Moongaze grinned "I heard Icestar say something about him being your apprentice"
" WHAT! Seriously?????" Rivertail sat up then fell back down wincing at the pain.
"Be careful!! I want you to be alive when he appoints you mentor." She scolded him.
" Can i go visit the kits, please?" Rivertail begged.
Moongaze sighed "all right, go tell your brother too, hes going to mentor Dustkit"
Rivertail hurried out ignoring the pain and sped to Brokenfang."Brokenfang! lets go visit our soon-to-be-apprentices" he jumped up and down in excitment
" All right, but could you have chosen a time i wasnt asleep?" He muttered.
Rivertail led the way to the nursery.
"Hello mosskit" Rivertail said gently as the kit bumped into him.
"Hi!" she jumped " your going to be my mentor right, I cant wait!"
A yowl sounded outside "Its ShadowClan wer'e under attack!....

CHAPTER 6!!!!!
The invaison
Rivertail groaned Didnt ShadowClan have anything better to do in their spare time than invade other Clans? He rolled his eyes at least ill get even with that mouse-brained apprentice.
He sped out of the nursery to see a surge of cats overcoming the guards. To his dismay Dappleface,Flowerpelt, and Mottledpaw were fighting against their own Clan! He knew he should have been expecting this but the prophecy had distracted. Rivertail pounced on the nearest apprentice, hoping it was shadowpaw. The apprentice yowled and jumped flinging Rivertail into the tall tree. Before He could stand and teach that apprentice a much needed lesson, He was pushed to the ground by another cat, Flarestar. "This will teach you to try to control our apprentices"the shadowclan leader said as she brought down her paw. But Rivertail would not be beat, directing all his anger and strenght into making this cat pay, her repeated the move the apprentice had done on him slamming the ShadowClan leader into another tree. From that moment until the end of the battle Rivertail acted as a hurricane, nothing could help but being slashed if he came too close. Then when his claws didnt hit anything he knew they had retreated, he fell to the ground exhausted..
Preview Chap 6 part 2
Rivertail woke once again where Riverstar had met him.
" Quite a battle"Riverstar observed amused, then he got serious "you cannot tell mosskit of the prophecy, it will make things worse!"
" H-how did you-" Rivertail began
"come, i wil show you something.."

Riverstar led him through a winding path with lots of brambles he had to push through. They finally came to a clearing that had all 5 of the prophecy, Rivertail wasnt surprised at who he saw there. "These are the ones in the prophecy, but one doesnt believe you..
You must journey to the tribe, and find Fate there
5 will clash
1 will fall
but none will die."
Riverstar began to fade.
"No! Wait! tell me more!"Rivertail called desperately.
"Don't worry young one, the next time you dream, I will be there..." Riverstars voice echoed around the clearing.

Rivertail woke up in the warriors den, obviously dragged there. He groaned in annoyance of Riverstar not telling him much, just leaving him a confusing prophecy! He looked around for Shrubtail to volunteer for the next patrol, but to his surpsise Salmonleap was organizing patrols.
"Wheres Shrubtail?" Rivertail asked as he walked up.
Salmonleap turned around at looked at him sadly "you didnt know? Your fathers dead!"



a few relations to understand better
Shrubtail was mates with Flowerpelt, their kits were Brokenfang and Rivertail.
Rosetooth and ????? kits were Icestar, Dappleface and Mousewhisker.

Chapter 8! ( im trying to not be too lazy)

" WHAT?" Rivertail Schreeched, his voice high pitched in his grief.
" We found him lying near the river the river half dead, we couldnt do anything, when Moongaze arrived, he was already with StarClan" Salmonleaps eyes darkened
" W-where is his body?" Rivertail asked, subdeud.
"We already buried him, ill show you where.Salmonleap began to lead the way

Rivertail sat near his fathers grave with his brother, who had seen them leaving the camp and followed them.
"Why... why him StarClan? WHY?!" His mournful yowl was heard all through the forest.
Brokenfang tried to calm him but Rivertail was blinded by grief and rage at ShadowClan
This is all Shadowpaws fault! He must be punished! His eyes narrowed then he whispered " Ill get revenge shadowpaw.." His voice became louder "This wont go unavenged!! "He yowled at the moon.

It was three days since shrubtails death and Rivertail was barley ever in a good mood, He was now out of the medicine cats care but that made him no happier.
One morning as he was out hunting, Riverstars shadow apeared breifly " Do what the prophecy foretells, go to the mountains!" The voice was so soft it could have been the wind but Rivertail heard, and he knew what to do, He went to camp, already making plans.

Rivertail had it all planned out, but he needed to tell the other three that didnt know or believed in the prophecy. But the gathering was still nearly a half moon away!
That half-moon was the painfullest of his life, the desire to go and be done with the quest tortured him all times of the day, if he was called short tempered after Shrubtail died, now he had no temper at all!

Finally the day came and Rivertail was anxious to get there. He sped ahead of the group, raced across the tree bridge, and tore through the brambles to the meeting place so fast he barely had time to register the pain.
As Rivertail looked around he noticed all was quiet, the clearing was empty! He had neverseen it like this, it was a bit strange, Rivertail was used to the commotion of this place. He was about to turn around to see where his Clan was when ThunderClan and RiverClan burst through the bushes. Rivertail could see a look of annoyance on Icestars face but he kept quiet.
Spotting the cat he was looking for he ran over.
" Thunderpaw!" Rivertail tried to get his attention.
"Its Thunderstripe" Thunderstripe Grunted
" Whatever, i have something to tell you..." Rivertail launched into the story of the prophecy Riverstar and the rest. He was just finishing when SadowClan burst in, WindClan not far behind.
When Rivertail turned his attention to Thunderstripe, the young warrior nodded
" Ill go with you, Ive heard from the elders that it is not too uncommon for warriors to get prophecys" he grinned
Rivertail nodded and went off to search for the others as SkyClan Made there way into the clearing.
Soon Rivertaail had convinced Windpaw, Soon to be warrior, and Skypaw newly appointed medicine cat apprentice for SkyClan, to join him and Thunderstripe to go to the mountains.
But Shadowpaw had heard the whole thing, and he planned to follow them to the mountains....

Wow, Thats so good! [I could not stop reading this the other night even though it was late]

I just read it again, A few comments.

1.MOST IMPORTANTLY, Don't put a thousand question marks or exclamation points! You only need one...

2.A mere scratch on the muzzle from an APPRENTICE wouldn't leave you in a coma for half a month!

3.You still have to put Quotes or Italics even if it's a thought.

I got to go so i can't look at it further..

First of all Shadowpaw is nearly a warrior! Rivertail didnt fight back so Shadowpaw unleashed al his fury ( hello? like 5 billion scrateches and five thouseand like paw pounds to the head srslY!!

Well it says "Shadowpaw clawed his Muzzle" That doesn't sound like a thousand slashes to me..

OH! Sorry, it says, As he unleashes his fury. I really think it's kind of unrealistic, EVERY SINGLE cat in the WHOLE gathering couldn't stop an Apprentice?

they could of, if he cared if he felt pain, they grabbed at him and and he justlet their claws rip into his fur,srsly, he was to angry to feel pain, fury is a powerful thing......

most people would stop but he just let them tear wounds into him, in his life at that moment, his only objective was to rip Rivertail to shreds ( and remember hes nearly a warrior, thnderstripe was made a warrior gathering night, Shadopaw is made warrior the day after....)

Still dude, it's like 60 WARRIORS vs. 1 Apprentice! I mean i can get really mad at some 25 year old guy, in the middle of a speach by Barack Obama, and my "Fury" won't be able to help me, over 600 people will hold me back...It wasnt a very good example, but you get my point.

and also remebering they are a bit suneed at seeing an apprentice chasing a warrior in the middle of a gathering, and the factthat they are spread out an Rivertail is panicking, many factors that will allow Shadowpaw to get at Rivertail easier

60! Think about it 60! SIXTY! Vs. 1!

60 there 10 stunned 30 on the otherside of clearing and shadowpaw ripping is way through twenty( rsly its not that hard, and take out shadowclan, i dont think they would care, considering they attacked on wword of their apprentice.

I guess so...
